Cathie and I recently made a visit to New York City. I found it to be a fascinating place. There were just so many interesting things to do. I had a brief conversation with Bill Clinton. I did most of the talking because Bill was just a man of wax. But from just 6 inches away he seemed 100% real. We saw several Broadway shows and the one I found most interesting was Motown. It is the story telling how the black musicians, who only had a black audience, came to be superstars for the whole world. Motown records promoted these unknown black performers and eventually they became great stars, like Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, and Michael Jackson. We visited the Empire State Building, Carnegie Hall, and Central Park. We were not able to find the pigeon lady from Home Alone, but, did find some of the pigeons.

On Sunday morning, I wanted to hear some black gospel music. I looked online and decided to attend Brooklyn Tabernacle. Leaving the subway station, I asked a lady where was the church and she said, "Follow me, I'm going there." There might have been 2,000 people attending and about 180 in the choir. Recently, this choir sang at the Presidential Inauguration. It was wonderful choir and whole hearted singing by the whole congregation. Around 2,000 people singing with heart and voice, singing in praise of God. It was a heart-warming experience. It was among the best singing I have ever heard in a church.

In New York there are so many fascinating things to do. But I didn't want to miss out on one of the most important, time to worship God. Is there anything more important in life than taking time to worship God?
