Weyburn Arts Council hosted two receptions April 25.

The 2014 Local Adjudication Reception was held at Signal Hill Gallery. During the day professional artist, Leslie Potter critiqued the work of 13 local artists.

Artists gathered that evening with family, friends and community members and enjoyed champagne and hors d'oeuvres while the results of which artist was chosen to move forward were announced.

Three Artists were chosen this year: Marilyn Nelson, Tina Hudson and Murray Williams. These artists are now invited to submit a proposal to OSAC in the hopes of being chosen to be a part of the provincial Art on the Move travelling exhibition. They will also have the Allie Griffin Gallery next year for an exhibition during the Local Adjudication. JoAnn Fahlman and Viktor Birkus received honorable mention.

The party then packed up and headed to the Allie Griffin Gallery for special coffees; desert and live music by Alfedo Aguiar-marquez for the reception of last years' Local Adjudication recipients, Terry Cruerer and Heather van der Breggen.

The potter and painter have created an interesting mix of work for their exhibition, "Inside Outside". The show has been extended to include the month of May.
