Road Race raises money for Kidsport

It was a beautiful morning for the Weyburn Opportunity Road Race which took place on August 17. A total of 86 racers were registered for the run/walk event, travelling to Weyburn from all corners of Saskatchewan as well as Ontario.

Many Weyburn and area residents took part in the Weyburn Opportunity Road Race on August 17 to help raise money for Kidsport.

It was a beautiful morning for the Weyburn Opportunity Road Race which took place on August 17.

A total of 86 racers were registered for the run/walk event, travelling to Weyburn from all corners of Saskatchewan as well as Ontario.

In the five kilometre walk, Sue Hagel and Diane Mus were first to cross the finish line with a time of 43:48.

Andrew Bryant finished the five kilometre run with a time of 20:26.

The 10 kilometre run was finished first by Andrew Broccolo with a time of 46:06.

Gerry Nagy finished the 15 kilometre run with a time of 56:50.

In the kids 12 and under mini mile, Emily Williams and Sydney Spencer tied as they crossed the finish line with a time of 5:27.

Proceeds from the race go to Weyburn Kidsport. Next year's race will take place on August 16. Full race results will be posted soon on the Weyburn Opportunity Road Race website at weyburnroadrace.com.
