The South East Cornerstone School Division Director of Education has resigned to accept the Deputy Director of Education position with the Prairie Valley School Division.
Dr. Marc Casavant has served the South East Cornerstone Public School Division as Director of Education since 2009.
In accepting the new position, Casavant looks forward to continuing the work of education in the Pre-K-12 system and creating opportunities for students to perform at their highest potential, working with the new Board of Education and its stakeholders to ensure equitable opportunities and smooth transitions for all students, and continuing the work with the province on the educational sector plan.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the South East Cornerstone Public School Division over the past five years and have enjoyed the working relationships formed, initiatives undertaken and the progress made in creating opportunities for the success and achievement of all students. I am looking forward to continuing the work of education in this province and collaborating with the partners in education to improve the educational outcomes of our students. This new role represents a positive move towards furthering my career goals and provides more opportunities for my family to pursue personal and professional interests," said Casavant.
