Local ladies take Roller Derby victory

The South East Saskatchewan Roller Derby (SESRDA) Hillbilly Hurt played its season opener in Moose Jaw against the Lil' Chicago Jaw Breakers on May 11. The Hillbilly Hurt came out with a victory of 372 to 330.

SESRDA Hillbilly Hurt is comprised of skaters from Weyburn, Estevan, Redvers and Ogema. One of the team's players is Estevan's Stephanie Dukart (GhostbustHER) and the team captain is Weyburn's Carissa Richard (Rocket Richard). The team's guest coach was Coach Vegas of Regina Pile O' Bones Roller Derby and Team Sask.

Weyburn will be having a recruitment day in June, with details coming soon. The next game is June 22 against Whitewood's Ring Leader Roller Girls in Whitewood.
