Childcare is hard to find and for Weyburn families, it just got a little bit easier with the expansion of the Sunrise Early Learning & Teen Parent Support Center Inc.
The Sunrise Center is excited to have relocated and expanded into a new, home like space in the Weyburn Comprehensive School and now offers childcare services to anyone in the community. Spaces are available for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children.
The expansion allows the Sunrise Center to welcome new families into early learning programs that consists of a play-based curriculum designed around children's interests.
Children spend their time at the center engaged in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The program gives them opportunities to explore learning through, art, math, science, literacy, and a mix of quiet and active play.
In addition to the play-based curriculum the center has increased staff/child ratios, a nutrition program and all of the staff is trained in Early Childhood Education.
