Weyburn athletes Taylor Molde and Kelsey Jensen competed on the Canadian 19 and under women's national team at the 2014 UANA Junior Pan Ameriacan Water Polo Championships in Riverside, California, taking home a bronze medal.
The women rebounded from a tough 7-6 loss to Brazil in the semi-finals on July 14 and dominated the bronze medal game which they won 23-2 against Puerto Rico. Jensen played solid in net for the Canadians.
The Canadian 19 an under men's team also played to a bronze medal at the event. By accessing the semi-finals, both the Canadian men's and women's squads have qualified for next summer's FINA World Junior (20U) Water Polo Championships, to be held in Kazakhstan.
