It all comes down to this weekend for the Weyburn Red Wings.

The Wings are hanging on to the final playoff spot with two games left in the regular season in a home and home with the Estevan Bruins.

Flin Flon sits just one point behind the Wings with three games left to play.

"We have to go out and play hockey. We can't be sitting there hoping Flin Flon loses all three of their games. We have to help ourselves," said Wings coach Bryce Thoma.

Last week's games were tough for the Wings, playing two top teams in the league.

The first place Terriers defeated the Wings 6-4 on February 20 in Yorkton.

"We played well but we gave up six goals," said Thoma.

Matt Eng started the scoring for the Wings on a power play with assists to Tyler Borstmayer and Jacob Jeske at 3:40 of the first period.

Josh Lees added to the scoreboard with a goal off the sticks of Brian Farkas and Ty McLean at 15:47 taking the score with a Wings lead 2-1 going into the second period.

Borstmayer scored early in the second period on a Wings power play from Eng and Nick Pouliot.

The Terriers added two more goals to tie it up at 3 going into the third period.

Yorton scored early in the third period, which was answered by Colton Laroque who found the back of the Terriers' net with assists to Cody Pettapiece and Farkas. The Terriers would add two more to win the game.

At home on February 22, the Wings were defeated by the Battlefords North Stars 4-1. The lone goal for the Wings came from Laroque from Pettapiece and McLean.

The Red Wings travel to Estevan tonight to face the Bruins. Saturday, March 1, the Wings will host the Bruins at Crescent Point Place in their final regular season game. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

The Red Wings will host their Annual Awards Banquet at the Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, March 2 beginning with cocktails at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available at the Red Wings office.
